These additional Origin AI User Terms (the “AI Terms”) govern your use of Origin’s machine-learning, large language model, autonomous agent, and other artificial-intelligence components made available as part of the Services (collectively, “AI Features”). In addition, your use of these features is governed by the agreement under which you purchased the services (a master services agreement or the Origin Terms, as applicable) (the “Terms”).
You hereby agree that these AI Terms will form a part of and supplement the Terms. In case of conflict between these AI Terms and the Terms, these AI Terms shall control to the extent of the conflict.
Origin’s AI Features may be powered in part by third-party machine-learning and large language model providers. A current list of such providers is published with Origin’s sub-processors at http://www.originhq.com/legal/sub-processor-list and is incorporated by reference. Your use of AI Features may be subject to the third-party providers’ applicable policies and terms, as in effect from time to time.
1. AI Features produce probabilistic outputs.
You are responsible for review and validation before acting on them.
AI Features generate outputs that include detections, classifications, risk scores, behavioral baselines, anomaly indicators, alert summaries, root-cause analyses, and recommended response actions. These outputs are probabilistic and may contain errors, omissions, hallucinations, false positives, or false negatives. They are intended as decision-support signals to assist Your security personnel; they are not a substitute for human judgment, independent verification, or qualified professional advice.
You should treat outputs of AI Features as inputs to your own security workflow and You are responsible for review and validation before relying on them in production. The Services are not currently intended to perform autonomous remediation, isolation, suspension, or other consequential actions on Your systems on the basis of AI-generated outputs; if and when Origin offers such capabilities in the future, they will be opt-in and configurable by You.
You are solely responsible for all use of outputs of AI Features and for evaluating them for accuracy, completeness, and suitability for Your purposes. Outputs generated for You may resemble or be identical to outputs generated for other customers, and Origin makes no representation as to the uniqueness of any output.
2. Inputs, outputs, and use of Customer Data with AI Features
You shall not knowingly use AI Features in a manner that infringes third-party intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights. You represent and warrant that You have all necessary rights, consents, and authority to provide to Origin, and to permit Origin to process through the AI Features, the telemetry, data, signals, and other inputs collected from or submitted on behalf of Your environment (collectively, “Inputs”).
You shall not provide as Inputs any data that infringes third-party rights or that You do not have authority to provide. Processing of personal data through AI Features is governed by the applicable Data Processing Agreement (the “DPA”).
You grant Origin a fully paid, royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicensable (to Origin’s affiliates, sub-processors, and service providers) license to host, copy, transmit, display, process, and otherwise use Inputs and outputs of AI Features to operate, secure, support, and deliver the Services to You. As further described in Section 2 of the Terms, Origin may use de-identified and aggregated data derived from Inputs (“Aggregated Data”) and data, signals, telemetry, detections, behavioral baselines, and security findings derived, observed, or produced by the Services that are not Personal Data (“Service Data”) to develop, train, test, tune, benchmark, improve, and enhance the AI Features and other Origin offerings, and to publish aggregated threat intelligence. Origin will not train external third-party generative models on Your raw Inputs without Your consent. You may opt out of Origin’s use of Aggregated Data for model training by written notice to legal@originhq.com; such opt-out does not extend to use of Customer Data to operate, secure, or deliver the Services.
Outputs of AI Features. Subject to these AI Terms and the Terms, Origin grants You a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, fully paid, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the outputs generated by AI Features for Your security operations and internal business purposes, including in incident response, security reports, and reasonably related work product. Your use of outputs in connection with services it provides to Your own customers in the ordinary course of its security operations (for example, an MSSP using outputs in a customer report) is permitted, provided that You do not separately sell, license, or distribute Origin’s AI Features themselves to third parties.
You shall not represent that AI Features outputs were created without machine assistance and shall, where reasonably appropriate, indicate that outputs were generated with the assistance of AI. You shall not (i) sell, license, or distribute the AI Features themselves or substantial portions of their outputs as a standalone product or service to third parties; or (ii) publish AI Features outputs as marketing or comparative material about Origin or its competitors without Origin’s prior written consent.
3. Personal Data and the DPA
You acknowledge that telemetry and other Inputs collected from Your environment by the Services and processed by AI Features may include personal data (as defined in applicable privacy laws). Where practicable, You should configure the Services to use suppression and redaction features, if available, to minimize the personal data submitted to AI Features.
All processing of personal data through AI Features is governed by the DPA, available at originhq.com/legal/dpa, which is incorporated by reference. To the extent of any conflict between these AI Terms and the DPA with respect to the processing of personal data, the DPA controls.
4. Prohibited use of AI Features
You shall not use AI Features for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose; to develop, train, or improve a competing product; to circumvent safety, content, or security restrictions implemented in the AI Features or in any underlying third-party model; or to attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or replicate the underlying models, weights, prompts, or detection logic. You shall not knowingly use AI Features to generate content that is harmful, malicious, or that violates applicable law.
You are solely responsible for any misuse of AI Features by You or Your Users and for any resulting consequences. You are also responsible for ensuring Your use of AI Features complies with applicable artificial-intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy, and sectoral laws in Your jurisdiction (including, without limitation, the EU AI Act, applicable U.S. state AI laws, and any sector-specific guidance), whether now in effect or hereafter enacted, amended, or interpreted. Origin disclaims liability for any damages or losses arising from Your use of AI Features in violation of these AI Terms or applicable law.
5. Disclaimers
AI Features may use third-party machine-learning and large language model solutions. You acknowledge that any output of AI Features: (i) is probabilistic and may contain incorrect, incomplete, or hallucinated elements; (ii) reflects the data and programming used to train the underlying models; and (iii) may be influenced by adversarial inputs, including content controlled by attackers and observed in Your environment (sometimes referred to as “prompt injection”). Origin uses commercially reasonable measures to mitigate prompt injection and similar adversarial risks, but does not warrant that such measures will be effective in all cases. You are responsible for treating AI Features outputs accordingly and for any actions taken in reliance on them.
Except as expressly provided herein or in the Terms and to the extent permitted by applicable law, the AI Features and any output, guidance, or recommendations therefrom are provided “as is” and “as available,” and Origin does not make warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement or any representations regarding availability, reliability, or accuracy of the AI Features or their outputs. This Section 5 is in addition to, and does not limit, the warranty disclaimers in the Terms.
6. Limitation of Liability
All liability arising out of or relating to AI Features is subject to the limitations and exclusions in Section 9 of the Terms (or, where You have entered into a separate Master Services Agreement with Origin, the corresponding limitation-of-liability provisions therein). For the avoidance of doubt, the cumulative liability cap and the consequential-damages exclusion in the Terms apply to AI Features.
7. Final Provisions
Origin reserves the right to suspend or terminate Your access to AI Features if You or any User materially violates these AI Terms or the Terms, or where Origin reasonably believes such suspension is necessary to prevent harm to Origin, the Services, or other customers.
These AI Terms may be updated from time to time by Origin. For material changes adverse to You, Origin will provide at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice by email and by posting the updated AI Terms with a revised effective date; non-material changes (including clarifications, security or legal-compliance updates, and additions reflecting new AI Features) may be made effective upon posting. Your continued use of AI Features after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance. You may, via the management console or by written request to support@originhq.com, disable or limit specific AI Features for some or all of its environment, where applicable; certain Services or capabilities may be limited or unavailable when AI Features are disabled.
